The Assistant Flying Instructor Rating
An Assistant Flying
Instructor rating allows you to instruct for the NPPL (Aeroplanes) Microlight
Licence under the supervision of a Qualified Flying Instructor. |
To Be Or Not To Be A Microlight Flying Instructor |
To teach someone
to fly is very rewarding work. However, the work is demanding and the
responsibilities on the instructor great. |
Course Acceptance Requirements |
The minimum
flying experience required before you can start an AFI Course is 100 hour as
PIC, minimum 60 hours of which must be on Microlight aircraft, 5 hours of
which must be on the aircraft type to be used for the course. |
The AFI syllabus |
On completion of the course you need to pass the AFI Rating Test conducted by an independent Flight Instructor Examiner. |
Time Schedule |
It is more beneficial to you to complete the course within a reasonably short period to ensure continuity - the courses can be adapted, within reason, to suit your time schedule.
